Seasonal Date Ideas

So you met a wonderful person on an online dating site...Now what? Here are a few date ideas for every season to make the change from online dating site to meeting your date in person as fun and easy as possible.

• Winter:

  If you and your online dating match are active people, why not try cross-country skiing (which is wonderfully conversational and thus perfect for a date), snowshoeing, or sledding? The latter, sledding, gives your date a playful reverting to childhood for the young or young at heart. It provides a light-hearted way for your formerly online and now offline date to get to know you. If you clicked as online dating site partners because you would both rather sit by the fire than shiver in the snow, how about planning a cozy date in the living room, complete with movie, hot chocolate, and lots of popcorn?

• Spring:

  Interest bloomed on an online dating site! Now get outside and see the flowers bloom on a walk in a local park. If you and your online dating pal are tired of being cooped up inside all winter, why not meet up for a date at a restaurant with outdoor tables? Better yet, take your date to the zoo before the weather gets too hot (and all the animals do is yawn and sleep!). Roars, bellows, and quacks provide plenty of date conversation!

• Summer:

  Shift from the heat created through the online dating site to the warm glory of the summer sun! Have your date in a kayak, canoe, or sail boat. Play tennis, basketball, or, for a more leisurely date, try croquet or bocce ball. Or simply have a barbecue date in the backyard or at a local picnic area. You could also have your date at a baseball game and share some peanuts! There's nothing like the Wave and thousands of people cheering and yelling to raise the enthusiasm level.

• Fall:

  You've braved the challenge of an online dating site. Now try a mountain on for size! Have a hiking date to the summit or a relaxing stroll around the base. Go apple picking or carve out jack-o-lanterns together. And don't forget the warm apple cider complete with cinnamon sticks! As the weather grows cooler, find out if there's a local historical house rumored to be haunted and pay it a visit. You and your date can share the thrills and chills while exploring the area in which you both live.
